Tabletop Mixer
DJ Questions?
I’m an aspiring DJ, and looking for some answers:
1) If I use my laptop (PCDJ) do I have to purchase a vinyl/CDJ tabletop? Do I still need a mixer?
2) If I’m a PCDJ, what equipment do I need? I already have the laptop and the software, I know I need amps (how many?) and what else do I need?
3) What are the best brands out there for DJ equipment I should be looking for?

1. You will need a mixer to get the best sound for the room you are working. I varies incredibly! However, you can use a mixer amp (amp and mixer combined).
2. You need an amp and a mixer (or mixer amp), speakers and a mike, also, headphone will be useful as when you get to 1,000 tracks or so you forget things and it’s handy to be able to preview.
3. As always, the best is the most expensive! The amount and power of the equipment will all depends on the size of room you will be working! Really, to get the best set up will depend on your personal preference and experience. At first you’ll have to take the advice of a salesman and then you chop and change as you wish! It’s a looong process that you will probably never be ultimately satisfied with!!!
4. Cost of equipment is relative but could be contained in that budget!
