Dj controller usb in?
ok i plan on DJing here pretty soon and im looking for somkinda of device that i can just use to stream songs from an external hard drive and i need this device to run into my 24 channel mackie mixer that i run my pa from preferbly either either xlr, 1/4 or rca out would be fine and im trying to be another product that i found for 329.99 and obviously i dont need anything with a built in mixer since i have one
First: Mackie mixers are not designed for DJ’s. When mixing tracks you will need the ability to cue individual channels in your headphones and you will want a smaller more compact mixer. It should also be noted that most USB controllers have mixers built in anyway.
Checkout the following controllers as examples: Vestax VCI-100, Numark NS7, and Pioneer DDJ-S1.
All three controllers I mentioned have two physical “decks” that control virtual decks on your laptop and a mixer built in. You would use the controller to manipulate the music and mix the volumes and then you could output to your Mackie and then your speaker system.
